Cloisonne is also known as hard enamel, is an ancient Chinese process that developed more than 5,000 years ago, it was originally used on jewelry worn by kings and pharaohs.  Die struck from copper material, hand-filled with mineral ore in powder by kiln heating at a time at 850 degrees centigrade. More colors added, then the pins are burned again. And then hand polishing to creating a smooth surface, which usually give the pin badges a high-quality, durable feel. Owing to hard durable finish, cloisonne pins (hard enamel pins) are best suitable to make military badges, rank insignia, car emblems and ideal for recognitions, achievement awards and important events.

  • **Outstanding craftsmanship, colors can be preserved for 100 years without fading
  • **Hard and smooth enamel surface, colors resistant to scratching and falling off
  • **One of the few factories insisting this traditional process – 100% real cloisonne

What is the difference between hard enamel pins and imitation hard enamel pins?

An easy way is use a sharp-pointed knife to stab the color areas of pins, the knife point goes into colors, it is imitation hard enamel, then another one should be real hard enamel, you can feel the color area is as hard as rock when knife point can’t go into colors further.
